Lyhyesti Grellistä/A short story about Grell

Tein jonkinlaisen henkilökohtaisen ennätyksen ja asu on 99 % valmis tässä vaiheessa. Muutama viime con onkin mennyt pienessä paniikissa aiheesta "ehtiikö asuni valmistua" mutta Grell näyttää vihreää valoa. Death Scythe tosin ei ehdi valmistumaan, mutta kun pitää valita ylioppilaskirjoitusten ja proppien teon väliltä, eiköhän valinta ole suhteellisen selvä.
Asussa kauluspaita on ainoa vaatekappale, jota en tehnyt itse. Yritin kyllä, mutta lopulta viritelmä kaatui kauluksen kohdalla - sitä kun ei saanut enää kiinnitettyä mitenkään järkevästi siihen paitaan. Onneksi sain luvan käyttää ostettua kauluspaitaa. Jos koskaan Grelliä enää tämän conin jälkeen käytän, teen kyllä kauluspaidankin uudestaan itse. Vaikuttaa vain todella epätodennäköiseltä, että tätä herraa ihan heti uusiksi cossaisin. Ei ole mikään helpoin cossi siirrettäväksi - etenkään tuon peruukin kanssa (vaikka onhan niitä miljoona kertaa vaikeampiakin)!
Takki on rusettia ja siistintää vaille valmis, liivi on valmis, housuiksi värjäsin vanhat James-housuni ja kauluspaita... No, niin. Joudun kuitenkin pitämään tuota takkia koko ajan siinä päällä, sillä taittuessaan kaulus paljastaa synkimmän olemuksensa. Enpä taida hetkeen ommella takkeja etenkään kaavoituksella, joka perustuu pääasiassa omaan kappaleidenhahmottamistaitooni. Erikoisemmin WIP-kuvia minulla ei kyllä enää ole tarjoilla, paitsi peruukista - joka sekin on jo yhtä piikkiä vaille valmis. Lopputulokseen en ole niin tyytyväinen kuin voisin olla, mutta tulipahan kokeiltua.

I did some kind of a personal record: my costume is 99 % ready now. This year I´ve had those "will I manage to make this in time" panics before cons but thank goodness Grell was pretty cooperative. I didn´t have time to make his Death Scythe though but when one has to choose between making it and matriculation exams the choice is kinda clear.
The blouse is the only thing which I haven´t made myself. I tried but I failed it badly since I couldn´t sew the collar in any way that would have made sense. Thank goodness I got a permission to use a blouse which is bought from the store. If I ever cosplay as Grell again after Tracon I will make the blouse myself. I think that won´t happen though since Grell´s costume isn´t very easy to transport from place A to place B - especially with that wig (though there are much more difficult costumes to transport)!
The coat is almost ready (I only have to attach the bow and then do some little things), the vest is ready, I dyed my old James trousers for this costume and the blouse... Well, yeah. I´ll have to wear that coat all the time anyway since the collar isn´t very beautiful if I don´t wear the coat properly. I think I won´t sew coats for a while and especially not with patterns which are based on my weak skill to figure out shapes of parts. I don´t have much WIP pics anymore except about the wig - which is also almost ready. I´m not as pleased with it as I could but well, I tried.

I also got my Grell lenses! I ordered them from värillisetpiilolinssit.fi, green and yellow fusion lenses!

Yes, I´ll be cosplaying as Grell from Kuroshitsuji, NOT as Rei from Free! o__o Though I should probably do that...

Traconin muista cosseista sen verran, että lauantaina cossaan jälleen Ayame Sohmaa. Totesin hänen asunsa olevan helppo kuljettaa ja mukava pitää päällä - toinen vaihtoehtoni oli Sasuke Uchiha, ja välttelen sitä asua kyllä siihen viimeiseen asti. Cosplay-parinani on jälleen Malla (Sasuke Tampere Kupliista), joka tällä kertaa esiintyy Kyo Sohmana. Iltabileissä olen jälleen Luka, ja eräs tuttavani lupautui minulle Mikuksi! ^^ Grell siis tosiaan on vain sunnuntain asu, sillä siitä tulee kaikkea muuta kuin helppo pitää päällä.
Tämänhetkiset tuntemukset ovat suunnilleen sitä luokkaa, että eipä hetkeen ole samanlaisia tuntemuksia ollut. Kupliiseen lähdettiin hyvällä mielellä, Animeconissa melkein itkettiin ja nyt olo on pikemminkin jotakin paniikin ja hämmennyksen välimaastosta.
Traconin jälkeisistä suunnitelmista sen verran, että päätin tehdä toisen Luka-cossin. Tällä kertaa kappaleena on Just Be Friends, mutta ihan rehellisesti sanottuna en pitänyt alkuperäisestä designista. Se ei olisi sopinut myöskään keholleni, joten päätin tehdä oman versioni asusta. Organzaa ja hemmetisti liikaa satiinia ommeltavaksi, mutta no, itsepähän suunnittelin. Tämän aloitan tosin vasta ensi kuun alussa, sillä lähestyvät filosofiankirjoitukset menevät automaattisesti harrastuksen edelle.
Traconissa saa tulla bongaamaan, ja minä halaan kyllä ihmisiä - kunhan kauniisti kysytään, eikä loikata yllättäen niskaan, sillä siitä en sitten pidä lainkaan. Ei sillä, että tätä olisi tapahtunut, mutta mainitsen silti. Nähdään siis Traconissa! ...ja jos sunnuntain esityskisassa kaadun niillä koroilla naamalleni, sille saa sitten naurahdella (paitsi jos särkynyt silmälasin linssi puhkoo silmäni tai jotakin muuta kaunista tapahtuu), sillä oletettavasti nauran itsekin alkushokin jälkeen.

About Tracon´s other costumes: on Saturday I´ll cosplay again as Ayame Sohma. I noticed that his costume is pretty easy to transport and comfortable to wear - my other option was Sasuke Uchiha and I think I´ll avoid that costume as long as I can. My cosplay partner once again is Malla (the Sasuke cosplayer from Tampere Kuplii) who this time cosplays as Kyo Sohma. At the evening party I´ll cosplay again as Luka and one of my friends promised me to cosplay as Magnet!Miku! ^^ Grell is only for Sunday because that costume will be everything but easy to wear.
Right now I feel weird since I haven´t felt like this for a long while. In March I went to Tampere Kuplii with good mood, at Animecon I almost cried most of the time and now my feelings are something in between panic and confusion.
About cosplay plans after Tracon: I decided to make another Luka costume. This time the song is Just Be Friends but to be honest I disliked the original design. It wouldn´t have fit my body so I decided to make my own design of that costume. There will be way too much (bloody hell!) satin and organza to sew but well, it was me who designed everything after all. I think I´ll start making this costume in the beginning of next month because the matriculation exam (philosophy) is more important than this hobby.
Come to say hi to me at Tracon and I will hug back - if you ask politely and don´t jump on me because the last mentioned thing is something I dislike very much. It hasn´t happened that much though but I still decided to mention that. See you at Tracon! ...and if I fell onto my face on stage on Sunday because of my heels you can laugh at it (except if a broken lense of the glasses decides to destroy my eye or something as beautiful happens) because after the huge shock I would probably laugh at myself too.

Uusi video!/A new video!

Hei vain! Olen tässä jo jonkin aikaa valmistellut videota, jonka piakkoin tuohon alle linkkaan, mutta en ennen tätä ollut tyytyväinen aikaansaannokseeni. Vieläkin siitä puuttuu asioita, mutta homma saatiin pähkinänkuoreen suhteellisen hyvin. Eli, videon nimi on "My story" ja kielenä toimii tällä kertaa englanti. Tämä on tarinani siitä, miten ulkonäköpaineet tämän harrastuksen piirissä iskivät minuun ja mitä sen jälkeen tapahtui.
Hello! For a while I've been making a video (which I'm soon gonna link under this text) but until now I wasn't pleased with what I had made. It still lacks a few things but well, there's enough stuff but not too much now. So, the name of the video is "My story" and this time it's in English. This is my story about how all the speaking about appearance affected me and what happened after that.

Grellin takki WIP/Grell's coat WIP

Pahoittelen jo ensialkuun WIP-kuvien puutetta, mutta projekti lähti käyntiin jokseenkin epävarmoissa merkeissä enkä halunnut ottaa kuvia keskittyessäni siihen, etten feilaisi koko projektia. Kyseessä on siis Grellin takki, jota lähdin kaavojen puuttuessa modaamaan topin kaavoista.
Kokoan tähän alle nyt jonkinlaiseksi listaksi asioita, joiden pohjalta lähdin koko projektia toteuttamaan.

• Kyseessä on naispuolisen henkilön takki, sillä se kuului madame Redille ennen hänen kuolemaansa, jonka jälkeen Grell nappasi takin häneltä. 
• Takissa ei ole kiinnitystä, vaikka ensin niin katsoinkin. Se on kuitenkin edestä avonainen.
• Madame Red käytti takkia ennen jäätävintä syksyä, mutta sesonkiajan jälkeen. Tämän pohjalta valikoin tarpeeksi paksun mutta kuitenkin kevyen kankaan, joka näyttäisi luontevalta eikä kiiltäisi. 
• Vinokaitalenauha on fiksumpi valinta reunaan kuin kanttinauha.
• Madame Red oli korkea-arvoinen naishenkilö 1800-luvun Lontoossa, josta kertovat takin malli sekä siihen käytetyt materiaalit - punainen kangas on suhteellisen yksinkertaista, mutta yksityiskohdissa pyrin kertomaan siitä, ettei madame ollut ihan tavallinen kaduntallaaja.
• Grell ei kuitenkaan pidä takkia kunnolla päällään oikeastaan kaiketi kertaakaan, joten pituutta piti lähteä tarkastelemaan sukupuolieron lisäksi senkin pohjalta. 
• Tässä vaiheessa tämä listaus alkaa tuntua jo itsestänikin puolihullulta perfektionismilta, joten ehkä jatkan itse projektin selittämistä.

First I'd like to apologize the lack of the WIP pictures but when I started this project I really had to concentrate on it - I didn't want to make mistakes because of the lack of concentration. I'm speaking of Grell's coat. I actually made it with the top patterns since I didn't have patterns for a coat. 
I've collected a list of things in which I payed much attention when I started to make the coat.

• The coat actually belongs to a female because madame Red owned it before her own death. Grell took it from her after that.
• There are no buttons or zippers on the front. The front of the coat is open but it wasn't until a couple of weeks ago when I noticed it.
• I didn't want to use the edge string so I used a different kind of string (I didn't find an English term for it, sorry!).
• Madame Red was actually pretty high-ranked in 19th century in London. You can tell it by the model of the jacket and the materials used in it. The red fabric is pretty simple but in details I wanted to make it known that she wasn't just somebody.
• Grell never actually wears the jacket properly so I had to check the length of the jacket twice (because there's also that thing that madame is a woman and Grell is a man).
• At this point this list seems to be written by a maniac perfectionist so maybe I'll just continue my explanation about the project.  

Voin sanoa, että ensialkuun jännitys oli todella korkealla. En välttämättä ehtisi ostaa uutta kangasta, jos kaavanmuokkausteoriani ei toimisikaan. No, tuumasta toimeen ja kappas - sehän muuten toimi! Olin kyllä vahingossa turhankin hahmouskollinen - takki ei ilmeisesti mahdu Grellille hartiaseudulta, mitä varten hän roikottaakin sitä olkavarren puolivälissä. Eipä tuokaan tekele minulle hartioista kunnolla sovi. Note to self: seuraavaa käyttökertaa varten hiha-aukkoa suurennettava parilla sentillä. Suhteellisen hyvältä tuo silti näyttää, eli suuria katastrofeja ei päässyt tapahtumaan.
I could say that I was very excited about this at first. If my plan "Modify the patterns" didn´t work I most likely wouldn´t have time to buy new fabric. Well, I decided to give it a try and look - it actually worked! I was actually too loyal to the character reliability by accident - I think that the coat doesn´t fit him very well around his shoulders and that´s why the coat is practically hanging on him (if you don´t get what I mean I´m trying to explain why Grell wears the coat the way he does :DD). The coat I made doesn´t fit me around my shoulders either. Note to self: next time when I use those patterns I have to do something about this problem, most likely modify the pattern even more. That looks pretty good though so I didn´t cause any big catastrophes.

Eli suunnilleen tässä vaiheessa ollaan nyt. Kaulus tosin päätti hangoitella vastaan, enkä ole vielä saanut päähäni sen kiinnitystapaa. Toisaalta koko takki on käytännössä improvisointia, joten eiköhän sekin asia siitä ratkea. Ai niin, löysin muuten kengätkin Grelliin! Ihan varma en vielä ole, lähdenkö muokkaamaan niitä. Periaatteessa niin pitäisi tehdä, mutta noille kengille tulisi käyttöä vielä asuissa Grellin jälkeenkin... No, katson miten aikaa jää, huolehdin ensin muun asun valmiiksi ja katson sitten mitä teen.

So I´m at this point right now. The collar decided to start bitching though and I have no idea how I should attach it to the coat. On the other hand the coat itself has mostly been made by improvising so I think I´ll solve the said problem. Oh, I also found shoes to this costume! I´m not quite sure yet if I´ll modify them or not. I know I _should_ do that but I could use those shoes in so many other costumes after Grell... Well, I´ll see how much I´ll have time after making the other parts of the costume.

Facebook-sivuillani olenkin tästä jo kertonut, mutta onnistuin jonkin ihmeen kaupalla ilmoittamaan parini ja minut esityskisaan! Ensimmäinen esityskisa siis kyseessä, jännitys suhteellisen korkealla mutta hei, ainakin se motivoi tekemään! ...älysin muuten juuri, että olen pyörinyt kohta kaksi vuotta cosplay-piireissä. Herranjestas, aika, minne oikein juoksit (ottakaa kaunis mielikuva kymppitohtorista juoksemassa, ja kyllä, David Tennant on suosikkini) o__O

I´ve already told about this on my Facebook page but somehow I managed to take part to the skit competition with my cosplay partner! This will be our first skit competition and I´m pretty excited but hey, at least I´m motivated to make this costume! ...I just understood that I´ve been cosplaying almost two years now. Gosh, time, where did you run (take a beautiful mental image of 10th Doctor running somewhere and yes, David Tennant is my favourite) o__O

Animecon XI

Hello~ hengissä ollaan, jotenkin. Aconia ennen piti tulla kaksikin postausta, mutta niin siinä vain kävi, että aika pääsi melkein loppumaan kesken asuja tehdessä eikä bloggaaminen tullut mieleenkään siinä kohtaa, kun ompelee titan beltsejä aamuyöllä hirvittävässä univajeessa ja väsymyksessä. Kaiken lisäksi Cornelia päätti näyttää minulle keskisormea - ensin nahkamaali ei saapunutkaan lupauksista huolimatta ja sen jälkeen onnistuin feilaamaan siivet. Asusta olisi jäänyt puuttumaan niin paljon, että neiti Hale jäi nyt suosiolla sitten kotiin. Anteeksi tästä, hänet nähdään kuitenkin vielä jossakin conissa ja sitä ennen melko varmasti photoshootin kautta!
Lähtö Kuopioon tapahtui tosiaan siinä perjantaina aamulla, ja perillä olimme joskus iltapäivällä. Yövyimme Sokos Hotel Puijonsarvella, joka oli muuten aivan mahtava paikka! Ilta meni siinä sitten torilla hengaillessa - yllättäen siitä neljän hengen porukasta olikin eskaloitunut nopeiden laskujen mukaan yhdentoista hengen sakki. Siinähän se perjantai-ilta meni mukavasti, tällä kertaa vielä cossikilpailua jännittäessä. Olisinpa siinä kohtaa vain aavistanut...
Hello~ I´m alive, somehow. I was planning to update twice before Animecon but then I almost ran out of time with my costumes and a thought of updating a blog didn´t even cross my mind while sewing titan belts somewhere in between night and morning in horrible lack of sleep and tiredness. Also Cornelia decided to show me its middle finger - first the leather paint didn´t arrive despite all promises and after that I failed her wings. There would have been so much missing details that I decided to leave miss Hale at home. I´m truly sorry about this, that costume will be seen at some convention and before it I think I´ll take a photoshoot of her!
We (me and my family) started our trip to Kuopio in Friday morning and we arrived there somewhere in Friday noon. We stayed at Sokos Hotel Puijonsarvi for the weekend (very awesome place btw!). In the evening I was hanging out with my friends and suddenly the group of four people had escalated to the group of eleven people. That evening was nice and I was pretty excited about the cosplay contest that was held in Saturday. Oh, if only I had known...

Lauantaina minun siis tosiaan piti osallistua cossikisaan Levinä, mutta sittenpä kävikin niin, että en meinannut saada edes beltsejä päälleni kunnolla ja suurimuotoinen tunteenpurkaushan siitä sitten tuli. Tiesin jo heti aamulla, että jaahas, tällä cossilla ei sitten osallistutakaan minkäänlaiseen kilpailuun. Jouduin tekemään siihen niin paljon ylimääräisiä kiinnityksiä ettei ole edes todellista. Cossia kehuttiin kyllä useasti ja valokuvia otettiin enemmän kuin pitkään aikaan (ette muuten tiedä, kuinka suuri merkitys etenkin tämän cossin kohdalla sillä oli ;___;) ja minut jopa tunnistettiin ensimmäistä kertaa elämässäni tämän blogin kirjoittajana! Silti en Leviä lähtenyt lavalla käyttämään vaan peruin kisailmoittautumiseni. Kyllä tuo asu kuvissa hyvältä näyttää, mutta ei siitä kisa-asuksi ollut. Oli muuten oikea ratkaisu jo ihan senkin takia, että myöhemmin päivällä (ennen kisaa) beltseistä hajosi eräs osa, joten... No can do.
Ehdimme kuitenkin ottaa aivan ihanan Mikasan eli Sairu-chanin kanssa photoshootin. Kuvaajana toimi Ejaki.
On Saturday I was supposed to take part to the cosplay contest as Levi but then shit happened. In the morning it was almost too hard to clothe the lower part of the belts on me and I almost ended up crying. I knew already in the morning that I couldn´t take part to any contest with it. I had to solve problems with those in weirdest kinds of ways and... Yeah, well, that´s the story of the belts. Well, people told me many times that my costume was good and they also took more pics than they usually do (you don´t even know how much it mattered to me especially with that costume ;___;) and for the first time ever I was recognized as a writer of this blog! Still I decided to not to take part to the contest. Well, that costume looks pretty good in pics but that definitely wasn´t a costume in which I would have wanted to go to the stage. I did right decision because later in Saturday (before the contest) one part of the belts broke so... No can do.
Still we were able to take a photoshoot with very lovely Mikasa aka Sairu-chan (link in the upper part of the text). Pictures by Ejaki (link to her dA also in the upper part of the text).

Ja sitten pari kuvaa vain Levi-cossistani, kuvaajana toimi jälleen Ejaki - paitsi yhden kuvan otti toinen ystäväni Daido ^.^

"Typerä nainen, ei siivoaminen mitään auta (Stupid woman, cleaning helps nothing)" - this was one of those random sentences I heard at Animecon xDDD

Suoraan shootin jälkeen häivyinkin hotellille vaihtamaan asua - olin hikoillut tuossa kuin maraton-juoksussa ja oli suoraan sanoen vain helpottavaa päästä noista eroon. Heitinkin sitten Lukan asun päälleni - ja voi että se tuntui mahtavalta asulta käyttää! ;__; Peruukin noudin vasta lauantaina conista, mutta se oli aivan täydellinen - hyvälaatuinen, oikean mittainen ja oikean värinen. Myöskään kuulokkeeni eivät olleet hajonneet tuhannen kappaleiksi kuljetuksessa, ja lähdinkin sitten takaisin kohti Musiikkikeskusta uudessa asussani. Niskalenkin kanssa tosin oli hieman ongelmia, se kun aukesi vähän väliä... Onneksi ostin reissussa hakaneuloja! Eipä Lukankaan asu ihan kivuton ollut, sillä ensin jalkani kuolivat korkokenkien takia ja sen jälkeen kävelin ainakin seitsemän tuntia ympäri Kuopiota ilman kenkiä. Meno oli lähinnä "Pikkukivi, au, toinen, au, miljoona, auauauauauauauau!!"-tyyppistä, mutta no, ainakaan ei taittanut nilkkaani korkojen takia...
Siirryin suoraan conista iltabileiden puolelle - ikärajattomiin totta kai. Siellä tulikin nähtyä ystäviä ja tanssittua ensimmäistä kertaa moneen vuoteen! Fiilis oli katossa sen koko ajan - lukuun ottamatta paria väsymysangstikohtausta, sillä päivä oli ollut pitkä jo aamusta lähtien ja se alkoi ottaa voimille. Toisaalta väsymyshuuruissa tuli ne parhaat keskustelutkin käytyä! :--D
Iltabileiden jälkeen minäkin pääsin sitten nukkumaan muutamaksi tunniksi. Tällä kertaa muuten tuli conipäivän aikana jopa syötyä.

After the photoshoot I went back to the hotel to change my costume - I felt like I had run a marathon (there was so much sweat) and I felt really relieved when I was able to take those titan belts off. I decided to wear my Luka costume for the end of the day - and oh gosh it was wonderful costume to wear! ;__; I got my wig on Saturday at the con but it didn´t matter since the wig didn´t need any styling - it has great quality, it´s long enough and the colour is right. Also my headphones didn´t break to a thousand pieces during the long drive. Then I went back to Musiikkikeskus. I had a few problems with the halterneck since it opened up by itself... Thank goodness I had bought some safety pins! Well, Luka´s costume wasn´t painless to wear because at first my feet died because of the heels and then I walked around Kuopio at least seven hours without shoes. My walking was something like "A little stone, ouch, another one of them, ouch, billion of them, ouchouchouchouchouch!!" but well, at least I didn´t break my ankle because of the heels...
From the con I went to the evening party - for the underaged people of course. There I saw my friends and danced for the first time in many years! I had a great time for the whole evening - exluding those couple angst-ridden "I´m so fuckin tired!!" attacks because the day had been very long and it started to get on my nerves. On the other hand we had the greatest conversations because of the tiredness! :---D
After the evening party I managed to sleep for a few hours - and I also managed to eat during the day.

Sunnuntaina nakkasinkin Lukan asun uudestaan niskaani - kauan eläkööt nämä vartissa päälle saatavat asut. Tällä kertaa tosin päätin laittaa sandaalini, sillä jalkojani särki edelleen. No, conipaikallehan pääsin sitten nopeasti ja sunnuntai kuluikin sitten vielä enemmän hengaamiseen. Kävin kuuntelemassa osan Reetan puheohjelmasta "Muinaiset kulttuurit mangan silmin", mutta lopulta niskasärky voitti ja jouduimme lähtemään kesken luennon. Egypti-osuuden ehdin kuitenkin kuunnella, ja voin sanoa, että aihe oli erittäin mielenkiintoinen ja Reetta veti ohjelmaansa todella hyvin! Lähdimme kuitenkin Elisan kanssa sitten pihalle hengailemaan ja tapaamaan tuttavia.
On Sunday I decided to wear Luka´s costume again - long live those costumes that don´t take even a quarter to clothe on. This time I decided to wear my sandals though because my feet were still hurting. I arrived to the con quickly and Sunday was the "hang out and meet your friends" day. I went to listen to Reetta´s speech named "Muinaiset kulttuurit mangan silmin" ("Ancient cultures through the eyes of manga") but in the end my neck was hurting so badly that we had to leave. I heard the Egypt part of her speech and I can say that the topic was very interesting and Reetta was amazing! Still Elisa and I went outside of the building to hang out and meet our friends.

Piakkoin spottasinkin sitten valokuvaajaystäväni Neiti Ninan ja pyysinkin häntä ottamaan sitten photoshootia Luka-cossistani. Sellainenhan sitten otettiin, ja olen todella tyytyväinen lopputulokseen!♥ Lauantailta löysin myös pari Miku/Luka-kuvaa, joiden ottajana toimi Joona Matero, kiitokset sinullekin! c:
Soon I saw my photographer friend Neiti Nina and I asked her to take a photoshoot of my Luka costume. Well, we took that and I´m very pleased with those pictures!♥ I also found a couple of Miku/Luka pics which are taken by Joona Matero, thank you too very much! c:

Sittenpä voisinkin siirtyä niihin muista cossaajista ottamiini kuviin, sillä sunnuntaista ei muuta erikoismainittavaa ole - paitsi lievä mindfuck törmätessäni entiseen luokkalaiseeni. Hän oli tämäntyyppisessä tapahtumassa ensimmäistä kertaa ja voisi kuulemma tulla toistekin ^.^ (Jos jotenkin satut tämän löytämään, niin olisi kiva törmäillä toistekin! ^^)
Then I could publish the pics I took of other cosplayers because there isn´t much more to tell about Sunday - except the little mindfuck when I met one guy who used to be my classmate. This was the first time when he was at a con and he told me that he had had nice time there and he could also come to some other con too ^.^

Tältä sää siis näytti, kun lähdimme Kuopiosta takaisin kohti Hinnerjokea! Oli kyllä aivan mahtava con, vaikka takaiskujakin tuli niiden asujen suhteen. Ensi vuonna uudestaan - tai ainakin yritän päästä, sillä ensi vuonna olisi kenties myös tarkoitus lähteä conittamaan Pariisiin Japan Expoon! Nyt siirrämme kuitenkin turvallisesti katseet kohti Traconia, Grellin asun valmistumista sekä jännitystä, sillä esityskisaa kohden käypi tie - iiiik!
This is how the weather looked like when we started our trip from Kuopio to Hinnerjoki! This was very wonderful con even though there were problems with costumes. Let´s wait for next year´s Animecon - or at least I try to go there but I also have this plan: I may go to Paris to Japan Expo! But for now let´s turn our gazes to Tracon, Grell´s costume and excitement because my cosplay partner and I will take part in performance contest - yiiiiikes!

Vlog #1 - Pakotettu cosplay?

(Sorry, only in Finnish this time! Update about Animecon is on its way so be patient, I´ve just had problems with the pics!)

Animecon-päivityskin on kyllä työn alla, minulla on ollut vain pieniä ongelmia kuvien kanssa näiden kuluneiden päivien (köh melkein kahden viikon köh) aikana. No mutta, tässäpä välissä taitaakin olla ihan suotavaa julkaista ensimmäinen tekemäni vlogaus.

Tulin siis tosiaan miettineeksi ilmiötä/asiaa "pakotettu cosplay", eli mitä se tosiaan on - vai onko sitä edes? Perustuu pääasiassa tuntemuksiini ennen Animeconia, mutta uskoisin, etten tosiaankaan ole näiden tuntemusten kanssa yksikseni. Kommenttia saa heittää tuonne JuuTuubin puolelle, tähän blogin kommentteihin tai sitten cosplay-sivuilleni. Haluaisin myös kuulla muiden tarinoita tästä kyseisestä asiasta, jos vain joku on tarinansa halukas jakamaan.

Kenties melua tyhjästä, mutta tulipahan tehtyä. Pahoittelen tosin huonoa laatua, joskin sössötys johtuu ässäviastani. Mokoma kirottu. Mutta tässäpä tätä vlogia sitten olisi.

Kertokaa toki jos video ei suostu näyttäytymään, pyrin sitten tekemään asian eteen jotakin.
Acon-päivitys tosiaan on tuloillaan heti kun vain pääsen kuvien kanssa yhteisymmärräkseen!

Ei paniikkia! ..tai ehkä hieman./No panic! ..oh well, maybe a little.

Okei, eli Leviin ja Corneliaan liittyviä asioita siis tässä postauksessa olisi tiedossa! Koska neiti Hale on aavistuksen verran (huomio, aavistuksen) valmiimpi, aloitan hänestä. Hameesta tulikin jo WIP-postausta, joten nyt jatkan paidasta ja heitän ensimmäisen preview-kuvan tähän. Levi-cossiani jatkankin sitten huomenissa, joten hänestä tulee enemmän juttua suhteellisen pian - tähän postaukseen taidan tunkea vain ensimmäisiä WIP-kuvia, ja seuraava postaus pyhitettäneen kokonaan tälle titaaneja tappavalle siivousfriikille (on siinäkin yhdistelmä).
Okay, something about Levi and Cornelia in this update! Because miss Hale is a bit (attention, a bit) more ready I decided to begin with telling about her costume. I already made a WIP post about his skirt so now I´ll continue with shirt and give you a first preview pic. I´ll continue working on my Levi costume tomorrow so I´ll tell more about him pretty soon - to this update I´ll put some of the first preview pics and next update is all about said titan killer/cleaning freak (well ain´t that interesting combination).

Tuossa paidan aloituspiste. Luoja, että tuonkin kanssa oli jo tappelemista! Ensin tein kappaleista valehtelematta sellaiset melkein 20 cm liian leveät, ja kaventamisen jälkeen mistään ei tuntunut tulevan mitään. Loppujen lopuksi... Köh, menetin hermoni ja ompelin sivusaumat. Kappas, siinähän se pohja sitten olikin! Cornelian paita aiheutti harmaita hiuksia pääasiassa siksi, että referenssikuvassa hihat lähtevät vasta olkapäiden alta, enkä ollut ennen ommellut mitään tämänkaltaista. Kokeilin boatneck-kauluksen kaavoilla, mutta arvatkaapa tuliko siitä sitten yhtään mitään? Ei, joten päätin soveltaa omia tekniikoitani, ja sain kasaan tuon. No, tärkeintähän on se, että se näyttää hyvältä.
The starting point of the shirt. Gosh, it was one hell of a fight with that! First there was something like 20 centimetres too much fabric (without lying!) so the shirt fell off all the time and when I made the pieces smaller I felt like I could do nothing. In the end... Emmm, I got annoyed and sewed the side seams. And there it was - the base of the shirt!
Cornelia´s shirt was pretty problematic to sew mainly because of the sleeves - you all know that her shoulders are visible and I hadn´t sewed anything like that before. I tried to make the shirt with boatneck patterns but guess two times did it work? Nope, so I decided to use my own technics and managed to make that. Oh well, the most important thing is that it looks good.

Tulipahan tämäkin sitten vanhasta Aku Ankasta bongattua. Koska kukaan ei saa kuitenkaan mitään selvää, ruudussa lukee jotakuinkin näin: "Nukuttaa niin, että etsin vasaraa, joka oli jo kädessäni. Hetkinen... Onko tämä edes minun käteni?" Tämäntyyppisissä fiiliksissä on kyllä näitä cosseja väännetty. En muista piirtäjää tai käsikirjoittajaa, joten kaikki crediitit heille.
I saw this in an old Donald Duck magazine. Because the quality of the pic is awful this is what there is written: "I´m so tired that I was looking for a hammer that was already in my hand. Wait a minute... Is this even my hand?" With these kind of feelings I´ve been making these costumes. I don´t remember who draw this or made the script but still all credits to them.

Peilikuvat ovat parhaita. Mutta siis, tuossapa tuo pirulainen nyt sitten on. Myös hihojen kanssa oli täysi tappelu päällä, mutta jotenkin sain ne sitten taiteiltua tuohon ihan hyvin. Tämä kuva tosin ei anna niille mitään oikeutta... Kangas myös vetää harmillisesti ryppyyn, mutta sen saa kyllä oiottuakin ihan semihyvin. Kyseessä on siis trikoo-kangas, se selittänee hieman. Pienimuotoisten erheiden vuoksi tämä myös näyttää hyvältä vain yhdestä tietystä kuvakulmasta, mutta täytyy katsoa, kuinka paljon saan vielä silityksellä korjattua asiaa. Oletettavasti perhanan paljon.
The mirror pics are best. But well, there´s that little devil now. It was one hell of a fight also with those sleeves but somehow I managed to sew them. This pic makes them look like a failure though... The fabric also has its own will as you can see but it´s not difficult to iron. This shirt is made of tricot so it may explain that a little. The shirt looks good just from one certain point of view but I think I´ll manage to fix those mistakes with ironing.

Stailaamaton peruukki, siivet puuttuvat, leggingsejäkään ei tässä kuvassa ollut (vaikka ne ovatkin valmiit, torppaan tiedot niistä myöhempään päivitykseen) enkä jaksanut myöskään meikata - kengät eivät olisi edes näkyneet, mutta jatkan niiden kanssa työskentelyä tällä viikolla saatuani nahkamaalin. Mutta hei, itse olen ainakin tyytyväinen siihen, mitä tähän mennessä olen tehnyt!
Unstylished wig, there are no wings or leggings in this pic (I´ll tell more about them later) and I was too lazy to do any make-up - and even if I had shoes they wouldn´t be ready but I´ll continue working on them this week when I´ll get the leather paint. But hey, at least I´m personally pleased with this!

Se sitten Corneliasta, ja nyt loppuun niitä vähäisiä WIP-kuvia Levistä. Ne titan beltsit eivät muuten ole mitkään mahdottomat tehdä - itse olen tykännyt tehdä niitä! Tällä asulla osallistun myös Animeconin cosplay-kilpailuun, ensimmäistä kertaa kokeneiden kategoriassa. Paljon kuvia ei vielä toistaiseksi kuitenkaan tästä herrasta ole.
That´s all for Cornelia now and now a few WIP pics about my Levi costume. Titan belts aren´t actually impossible to make - personally I really like to make them! I´ll also take part to Animecon´s cosplay contest with this costume, first time in the category of experienced cosplayers. I don´t have much pics yet about this mister though.

Epämääräisiä kangaskasoja, kyllä. Beltsit ovat kyllä edistyneet tuosta, ja paita on itse asiassa melkein valmis. Housut ja solmio pitää vielä tehdä plus kenkien ja beltsien viimeistely (unohtamatta sitä viimeistä titaania eli peruukin stailaamista) mutta sitten se onkin aika lailla siinä. Lukasta muuten sen verran, että neidin peruukki on tilauksessa, ja nyt jännitetään, saapuuko se ennen Animeconia. Kuulokkeista tulee oma WIP-postauksensa tässä pian!
Kirjoittelen taas pian! Peeäs, enää alle kaksi viikkoa coniin!! D:

Random piles of fabric, yes. The belts are not that much in progress anymore and the shirt is almost ready. I´ll just have to sew the trousers & that some kind of necktie and make the shoes & the belts ready (and I shouldn´t forget about the last titan: styling the wig) and then it´s there. Oh, about Luka: the wig of said lady has been ordered and now I just hope that it would arrive before Animecon. I´ll make a WIP post about the headphones soon!
I´ll write soon again! Btw, there ain´t even two weeks before the con!! D:
