Yukicon 2.0: milloin saa nukkua?/Yukicon 2.0: when can I sleep?

Erittäin väsyneet tervehdykset tältä suunnalta (kirjoitan tätä tekstiä siis conin jälkeisenä maanantaina, mutta julkaisua venytin siihen asti, kunnes sain lauantain shoottikuvat). Yukicon on siis takanapäin, ja tarkoitus olisi väsätä siitä jonkinlaista raporttia. Perjantai-illasta voisinkin aloitella. Jo aamulla olin heittänyt tavarani Empulle, ja iltapäivän puolella lähdimmekin sitten kohti Espoota Onnibusin kyydissä. Linja-autossa oli tunnelmaa.
Yövyin ystävälläni Annikalla, joka olikin minua vastassa Lommilan pysäkillä. Käväisin nopeasti heittämässä tavarani heille, ja lähdimme siitä sitten kohti Helsinkiä, vielä tarkemmin sanoen DTM: ää. Harvinaisen hauskaa kyllä oli, mutta lopulta maiharini tappoivat jalkani tanssilattialla, joten lähdimme melko hyvissä ajoin takaisin Espooseen. Pikaisen iltapalan jälkeen painuimmekin nukkumaan, jotta saisin itseni ylös sängystä ajoissa - tarkoitukseni oli siis mennä Elisaa ja Hannaa vastaan juna-asemalle, ja heidän junansa tulisi yhdeksän paikkeilla.

Greetings from Yukicon (imagine me saying this in a very tired voice since I´m writing this on Monday right after the con but I decided not to publish this before I got my Miku photos). Yukicon is over and now I´m trying to write something about it. I guess I should start with telling about Friday evening. In the morning I had left my stuff in Emppu´s place and on afternoon we left to Espoo by Onnibus which is pretty cheap transportation firm so to say. I stayed at my friend Annika´s place who was already at Lommila´s bus stop when I hopped out of the bus. We went quickly to her place to leave my stuff there and then we started our trip to Helsinki, especially DTM (which is a gay bar in the center of Helsinki). We had very much fun but in the end my shoes killed my feet on the dance floor so we left pretty early to Espoo. After eating a bit we went to get some sleep so I could wake up early enough in the morning - I was supposed to meet Elisa and Hanna at the railway station at 9 o'clock in the morning.

Lauantaiaamu starttasikin sillä, että vippasin Miku-cossini päälleni ja meikit naamaan. Siitä sitten aika nopsaan lähdimmekin sinne asemalle. Matkalla sitten muistinkin, että minun piti lainata eräälle ystävälleni peruukki, joka tietysti oli jäänyt Annikan kämpille. Paniikinomaisen viestini jälkeen ystäväni onneksi sanoikin, että hän tarvitsisi peruukkia vasta sunnuntaina.
Elisa ja Hanna odottelivatkin sitten jo asemalla, ja sieltä hyppäsimme Tapiolaan menevään bussiin. Matkan aikana heitinkin sitten peruukin päähäni ja sain jonkin verran kummastelevia katseita, kun Elisa asetteli Mikun saparot päähäni (peruukki kuuluu siis hänelle). Matkassa kesti puolisen tuntia, ja jäin ulos odottelemaan siksi aikaa, kun kaverini heittivät tavarat sisälle. Itse odottelin SiruAliasKidiä, sillä hän oli tarjoutunut ostamaan lippuni synttärilahjaksi. Ehdimme sopivasti käydä kaupassa hakemassa ruokaa, ja sitten menimme takaisin conipaikalle. Siellä törmäsinkin sitten Nordicaan, SiruAliasKidiin sekä megurinemagnetiin, joka toimikin siitä suoraan kuvaajanani. Voin muuten sanoa, että oli hieman kylmä - ja minä kestän kylmyyttä yleensä todella, todella hyvin. Onneksi oli lämpimämpää kuin sunnuntaina.
Joka tapauksessa saimme hyviä kuvia, ja megurinemagnet on mahtava kuvaaja: neuvoi, miten minun pitäisi toimia, ja ohjeita tulikin vähän väliä. Kiitos suuresti! <3

My Saturday morning started with dressing up as Miku and doing her make-up. We (Annika and I) left her place pretty early so we would be at the railway station in time. When we were walking towards the station I remembered that I was supposed to borrow a wig to my friend and of course I had forgotten the said wig at Annika´s place. I almost got a panic attack and sent my friend a "I´m so so so so sorry!!" message but fortunately she needed that wig on Sunday and not on Saturday.
Elisa and Hanna were already waiting for us at the station and we hopped on a bus which went to Tapiola where the con place is. During the drive I also got my wig and people stared at us a bit when Elisa helped me get the wig in the right way (the wig derped a bit and the wig belongs to Elisa so I asked her to help me). 
The drive took something like half an hour and I had to stay outside when my friends went to get their tickets etc. I was waiting for SiruAliasKid because she had offered to pay the ticket for me as a birthday present. 
We (Elisa, Hanna and I) visited a store to buy some food and when we went back to the con place where we met Nordica, SiruAliasKid and megurinemagnet who was my photographer on Saturday. I can say that it was pretty cold outside - and usually I´m the one who doesn´t complain about the cold. Thank goodness it was warmer on Saturday than on Sunday.
Anyway, we got good pics and megurinemagnet is an awesome photographer: she told me what I should do and I got advice almost the whole time we were taking pics. Thank you so much! <3

Shootin ja jonkin ajan hengaamisen jälkeen kävinkin karaokessa laulamassa hahmoni biisin, eli Miku Hatsunen Rotten Girl, Grotesque Romancen. Enkä puhunut sen jälkeen hetkeen. Ääni lähti, näkemiin.
Tarkoituksenani oli käydä katsomassa myös pari luentoa + cosplay-kisat, mutta en vain saanut itseäni toimeentumaan. Siispä hengasinkin ympäri con-paikkaa shootin jälkeen hetken itsekseni, kunnes törmäsin Lusseen (tai itse asiassa hän tunnisti minut antamieni tuntomerkkien pohjalta, itse olin yhtä puusilmä kuin aina ennenkin). Hänen kanssaan sitten hengailinkin sen kolmisen tuntia, ja Marikin siinä hetken aikaa kanssamme istuskeli. Sainpa sitten päähänpiston, että lähtisin Annikalta iltabileisiin...
Kun minä, Annika ja Liisi olimme päässeet heille, kävin vippaamassa tavalliset vaatteet päälleni ja aloin valmistautua bileisiin menoa varten. Annika hieman hermoili siitä, että selviytyisinkö bussien vaihdoista ja sitä rataa, sillä en ole ennen Espoossa yksin liikkunut. Bussikuskit olivat onneksi suopealla päällä, ja avustivat minua kun kysyin neuvoa. Sen vain sanon, että olisiko jotakin ideaa rakentaa alikulkutunneleita vähän tiuhempaan? Jäätyäni Hanasaaren pysäkillä keskustelu kahden tyypin kanssa meni jotenkin näin:

Henkilö A: "Anteeksi, tiedätkö sä, miten tonne pääsee?" *osoittaa motarin toiselle puolelle*
Minä: "Tien toiselle puolelle? En, mutta tiedäks te, mistä tää bussi lähtee?"
Henkilö B: "Se on just toi pysäkki tuolla... Mitä me tehdään?"
Minä: "...ei kai auta muu ko mennä yli..."

No, lopulta pääsin ehjänä bilepaikalle menevään bussiin, josta ystävällinen paikallinen sitten saattelikin minut bilepaikalle. Tyypin ystävällisyys oli oikeasti sydäntä lämmittävää ^__^ Bilepaikka sitten löytyikin, mutta sainpas ideaksi lähteä kävelemään conipaikalle hakemaan Elisaa... Ja arvatkaapa, kuka eksyi niin saakelin useasti, ettei ollut enää ideaa lähteä bilepaikalle, sillä bussini lähti heti conipaikan vierestä? Siellä sitten jäädyttiin Kulttuurikeskuksen seinän vieressä tunnin verran nyt ainakin...
Annikan ja Liisin kanssa lähdimme jatkamaan iltaa Britanniaan, ja sieltä kun lähdimme, niin eikös sitä lunta tullut vaakatasossa kovina ja pistelevinä hiutaleina, jotka lisäksi menivät silmiinkin ihan kiitettävästi, enkä nähnyt käytännössä mitään. Pääsimme kuitenkin ehjinä perille, ja painelinkin suoraan sänkyyn lämmittelemään. Herätys seuraavana aamuna kahdeksalta, jotta ehtisin ajoissa conipaikalle. Houkuttelevaa.

After the photoshoot and hanging out for a while with megurinemagnet I decided to go to karaoke room to sing Rotten Girl, Grotesque Romance which was the version of Miku I wore on Saturday. And after singing I didn´t speak for a while because my voice decided to leave me.
I was supposed to check out a couple of panels and cosplay contests but I just... Didn´t do that. That´s why I decided to hang out with myself for a while before I met Lusse (or actually he recognized me because I had told him which cosplays I would use in the convention, I was my usual self and didn´t notice him even though he had told me which costumes he would use, oops). I hanged out with him something like three hours and Mari joined us for a while. Then I got the greates idea ever: I would go to the evening party...
When Annika, Liisi and I had arrived to Annika´s place I went to change my costume to my normal clothes and started to get ready for the party. Annika was a bit nervous because even she wasn´t sure where I was actually going and she has lived in Espoo since... I don´t even remember, at least ten years I think? Thank goodness the bus drivers were friendly and helped me when I asked for advice. I still have to say one thing: would there be any idea in building more walking routes or something? When I hopped out of the bus at Hanasaari´s bus stop the conversation with two random girls went somehow like this:

Person A: "Excuse me, do you know how to get there?" *points the other side of the highway*
Me: "To the other side of the road? No idea, but do you know where is the stop of this bus?"
Person B: "It´s that stop on the other side of the road... What we should do?"
Me: "...I guess there´s no option. RUN!"

After all I was still in one piece when I hopped into the bus which took people to Teekkarikylä where the party place was. A local person also helped me to find the place - he was very, very friendly and it was so nice to notice that there are still people who want to help other people ^__^ I found the party place thanks to him but then I decided to walk to the con place and get Elisa to the party place.... And guess who got lost so many times that there would have been no point in walking back to the party place since the bus stop was right next to the con place? Well, there we sat, near the wall of Kulttuurikeskus and got so frozen that I almost started to sing Let It Go.
Annika, Liisi and I decided to go to Britannia which is a bar in Espoo and when Annika and I left to Annika´s place it was snowing and it felt like daggers, it was so cold - and I didn´t see anything because there was that snow (ice? At least it felt like it -__-) in my eyes. Fortunately we were alright when we got to her place and I went straight to bed because I didn´t want to suffer from cold. In the next morning our alarm clock would remind us of its existence at eight o'clock so I would be early enough at the convention place. Lovely. 

Aamulla nappasin vain cossin mukaani, ja lähdin bussilla kohti Tapiolaa. SiruAliasKid olikin paikalla jo aikaisemmin, ja itse pääsin paikalle jonkin verran ennen kymmentä. Meidät saatettiin pukuhuoneille, ja sielläpä sitten lähdin kiskomaan cossia päälleni. Alemmuuskompleksien saattelemana - ihan oikeasti, mitä minä muka tein kokeneiden sarjassa, kun aloittelijoidenkin cossit ovat parempia? Eipä sillä, olin omaan Ranskaani loppujen lopuksi todella tyytyväinen - olisin kuvitellut, että se näyttäisi pahemmalta.
Bäkkärillä törmäsinkin sitten Nordicaan ja ChipiNinjaan, jotka olivat myös ryhmäkisassa, mutta aloittelijoiden sarjassa. Juttelimme siinä sitten vähän niitä näitä, ja törmäilimme päivällä myös vähän väliä. Bäkkärillä oli muutenkin todella rento meininki, ja osasin oikeasti olla jännittämättä ihan hirveästi (fiilikset olivat lähinnä "Ai tässä ihan oikeasti ollaan tänään menossa lavalle? o__O"). Piakkoin olikin tuomaroinnin aika.
Tuomaroinnin jälkeen (tuomareille muuten kiitos: olitte ihania, en edes jännittänyt niin kuin tuomaroinneissa yleensä! <3) kävimmekin sitten kuvauspalvelulla, jonka kuvat olivat netissä samana iltana. Tässäpä siis ne kuvat, (c) Kyuu Eturautti.

In the morning I just took the costume with me and started my trip towards Tapiola. SiruAliasKid was there before me and I was at the convention place a bit before ten o'clock in the morning. A friendly person escorted us to the dressing rooms and there I started to dress up to become Francis Bonnefoy. I also got that "I can´t do anything ;__;" feeling when I saw all those lovely costumes around me; what the hell I was doing in the category called "the experienced cosplayers" when the beginners make better costumes than I make? After all I was pretty pleased with my France costume - I thought that it would look much worse.
At backstage I met Nordica and ChipiNinja who had also taken part in the group contest but in the category "beginners". We chatted a bit about random things and also saw each other now and then during the day. There was a relaxed atmosphere at the backstage and I didn´t feel nervous at all (my thoughts were something like "Oh, I´m going onto the stage today? o__O"). Soon it was time for us to walk in front of the judges.
After we had met them and they had done their job (I have to thank the judges: you were so lovely, I wasn´t even as nervous as I usually am when I meet the judges <3) SiruAliasKid and I went to the photo stand - the pics were on the net during the same day which is surprisingly fast. Mari nappasi minusta myös pari kuvaa ulkona. Ja kyllä, tiedän, että siinä on tupakka, mutta iso osa ranskalaisista tupakoi, joten olkoot.

Mari also took a couple of pics of me at the outside. And yes, I know that there´s a cigarette but many French people smoke so let the cigarette be there.

Tämän jälkeen kävinkin nopeasti vielä moikkaamassa Lussea taidekujalla, kunnes oli aika painua bäkkärille. Olimme sopineet, että minä vastaisin juontajan kysymykseen, enkä edelleenkään ollut keksinyt siihen vastausta. Enkä ollut keksinyt sitä vielä siihenkään mennessä, kun meitä tultiin huutelemaan odottamaan vuoroamme. Me kisasimme numerolla 13 - epäonnennumero. Lievää naureskelua siitä, että karma oli kenties jo tuomaroinut meidät ennen varsinaista kisatuomarointia. Huvittaa muuten edelleen.
Ryhmämme nimi NamelessCosplayGroup tuntui olevan lavapresentaatiomme ainut huvittava kohta, ja itse olen kyllä myös sitä mieltä, etten pahemmin olisi voinut vastaustani ryssiä. Jälkikäteen on tullut mieleen vaikka ja mitä, mutta lavalla en sitten meinannut saada suutani auki. Asiaan saattaa kenties vaikuttaa se, että meinasin pyörtyä ensimmäisen poseerauksen aikana. Tiedä siitä sitten, mistä mahtoi johtua, en nimittäin hermoile ennen kisoja juurikaan ja lavalla sitten vielä vähemmän.
Sijoitusta kisasta ei kuitenkaan tullut, mutta kaikille sijoittuneille hirveästi onnea! Lisäksi voin sanoa, että kiljuminen oli lähellä, kun Nordica ja ChipiNinja pääsivät kolmannelle sijalle aloittelijoiden ryhmäkisassa! ^__^
Kisan jälkeen viskasinkin cossin pois päältäni, hengasin Elisan kanssa puolisen tuntia ja häivyin sitten conipaikalta Annikalle ja sieltä taas bussipysäkille aloittaakseni kotimatkani. Olin jo melko väsynyt, mutta onneksi Rami sattui matkaseuraksi ja piti minut hereillä. Noin puoli yhdeksältä olimme Harjavallassa Empun kanssa, ja siitä sitten jatkoimmekin koteihimme nukkumaan. Oma sänky, paras sänky.

After taking the pics I went to say hi to Lusse who was at artists´ valley (the place where people can sell their own art) until it was time to go to the backstage. SiruAliasKid and I had decided that I would answer the question on the stage and I hadn´t created an answer for it - I created it when we already were on the stage. Our contestant number was 13 - we laughed at it because it felt like karma had judged us before the judges. And it´s still funny.
Our group name NamelessCosplayGroup seemed to be the only funny thing of our stage presentation and I can agree with that. Seriously, my answer was idiotic. After that I created 50 better answers but on the stage I barely managed to speak. I guess it had something to do with the fact that I almost fainted when we stroke our first pose. I don´t know why that almost happened because usually I´m not very nervous, at least not on the stage.
We didn´t place in the contest but everyone who placed: CONGRATULATIONS! And I can tell you that I nearly screamed when they said that Nordica and ChipiNinja were placed 3rd in their category! ^__^
After the contest I changed my clothes, hanged out with Elisa something like half an hour and left the convention place to Annika and from her place I left to the bus stop to start my trip to home. I was pretty tired but fortunately Rami was in the same bus than me and we chatted about the con for 1,5 hours or so. At 8.30 in the evening Emppu and I were in Harjavalta and from there we started our trip to our homes to get some sleep. Own bed the best bed. 

Ja koska ikinä ei voi olla liian aikaisessa, ensi Yukiconin suunnitelmatkin ovat jo valmiina! ...tai siis, olen perustamassa jonkinlaista ryhmäphotoshootia, varsinaisesta ryhmäilystä en osaa sanoa. Ja hahmohan on tässä:

And because one can´t ever be too early I already have plance for the next Yukicon! ...or, I mean, I´ve been thinking about a group photoshoot, I´m not sure about the real group thing. And the character is here:

Chieri Sono Gingham Check-asussaanhan se siinä! Pitäisi vain saada enemmän referenssikuvia tästä kaunottaresta... Vaikeaksi vain on mennyt. Elisa (aka Gumi) on lupautunut cossaamaan Acchania, mutta muut paikat ovat vielä vapaina! ^__^

Chieri Sono in her Gingham Check outfit! I should get more reference pics of this beauty but it´s been pretty difficult to find them... Elisa (aka Gumi) has promised to cosplay Acchan but nobody has said anything about other characters yet! ^__^

Juttua Icyn teosta tulee pian, sillä tilasin eilen neidon peruukin. Myös Alexin peruukin noudin mukaani Yukiconista, ja cossi alkaakin olla melkeinpä kasassa o__O Mistä tätä inspistä oikein tulee? Mutta nyt meikäläinen hiljenee tältä erää, kohta alkavatkin sitten täysin uudet kujeet cosplayn ja conituksen suhteen! ...tosin ketään tuskin ihan hirveästi yllättää, että kisapainotteisesti pyrin tämänkin vuoden menemään, joskaan en edelleenkään ravaa palkintojen perässä. Parhaani teen, ja jos se ei riitä, niin sitten se ei riitä ja that´s it.

I will speak about Icy soon because I ordered a wig for her yesterday. I also bought a wig for Alex from Yukicon and that costume is almost ready o__O Where did I get all this inspiration? But now I will shut my mouth for now and soon I will start to tell about my next projects! ...though I guess nobody is surprised when I say that I will take part in many contests this year though I´m still not hunting medals etc. I´m doing my best and if it´s not enough there´s no use to cry over it.
