WIP: Cornelian hame/WIP: Cornelia´s skirt

Koska minulla näyttää kestävän pieni ikuisuus muun asun teossa, teen nyt sitten WIP-postauksen Cornelian hameesta. Kuvissa hametta ei nähdä päälläni, sillä haluaisin tällä kertaa saada preview-kuviin mahdollisimman paljon viimeistellystä asusta päälleni. Sen verran voin sanoa, että kengät ja pusero ovat kovan projektin alla ja leggingsit ovat lähes valmiit, vain siivet ovat aloittamatta.
Because it seems to take pretty long to make other parts of the costume I decided to do a WIP posting about Cornelia´s skirt. In the pictures you won´t see me wearing the said skirt because this time I´d like to wear most parts of the costume in the preview pics. At least I can say that I´ve started to make the shoes and the shirt and the leggings are almost ready. The parts I haven´t started to make yet are the wings.

Jälleen kerran kaikki siis alkoi kaavoituksesta. Kaavat ovat Joka Tyypin Kaavakirjasta, muistaakseni sen ihan tavallisen A-linjaisen hameen kaavoja. Jälkiviisautena huomasin, että olisin voinut käyttää Lukan mekon kaavoja, niin en olisi joutunut tekemään muotolaskoksia. No, tehty mikä tehty.
Once again everything started with making the patterns. They are from Joka Tyypin Kaavakirja (I won´t translate that one since I´m not sure if it´s in English anywhere) and they are the patterns of the basic A-line skirt. After drawing them I noticed that I could have used the patterns of Luka´s dress. In that way I would have been able to avoid making the darts. Well, they are done now so let it be that way.

Tuosta siis lähdettiin liikkeelle. Seuraavaksi olikin kankaan leikkaamisen vuoro - ja siinä vaiheessa tulikin sitten huomattua, että materiaalia oli juuri ja juuri riittävästi. Onneksi sentään niin päin! Olisi ollut suhteellisen epämukavaa ryhtyä tekemään jotakin randomia jatkokappaletta ja sen myötä ylimääräisiä saumoja hameenhelmaan.
That´s where it started. The next thing to do was cutting the fabric - and in that point I noticed that there was just enough material. Thank goodness there was enough and not too little! It would have been pretty uncomfortable to start to make compromises, extra pieces of fabric and in that way more seams to the hem of the skirt.

Ensimmäisenä päivänä en muistaakseni saanut hametta kasaan muuten kuin nuppineulojen avulla, mutta sain sen silti aika hyvään pisteeseen. Sain katsottua halkion paikan ja sovitettua hametta. Sopii muuten just eikä melkein - ilman mitoitusvirheestä johtuvia ulkonäöllisesti ongelmallisia efektejä. Tämän cossin suhteen itkettiin monta kuukautta, etten muka voisi cossata Corneliaa, kunnes lopulta annoin itselleni henkisen bitch slapin ja aloin vain tekemään asua.

In the first day I only put the pieces of fabric together with pins (at least I remember so), but I think I got to a pretty good point in the making process. I was able to see where the placket was supposed to be and then I tried the skirt on. It fits me very well - without the problematic effects on appearance because of mistakes I made while cutting the fabric. I cried a few months that "oh gosh I can´t cosplay as Cornelia!!" but then I mentally bitch slapped myself and just started to make the costume.

Seuraavaksi olikin vuorossa sitten ompelun ja yläsyrjän muotoilemisen vuoro. Sain vihdoin ja viimein ostettua niitä kangasliituja, joiden avulla hahmottelin sitten hameen yläsyrjässä olevan... No, miksi tuota nyt kutsuisi? En tiedä, mutta koukkua se mielestäni muistuttaa :D
The next things to do were the sewing and modifying the top part of the skirt. I finally managed to buy the fabric chalk (???) and with them I outlined the thing on the top part of skirt. What is it actually? I dunno, reminds me of a hook :D

Hameen ompeleminen oli odotetusti helppoa. Sivusaumat valmistuivat nopeasti, toisen ollessa vain sen 30 cm pitkä (suurinpiirtein sanoen). Seuraavaksi katsoinkin sitten vetoketjun paikan ja leikkasin hameen takaa auki. Vetoketjun ompelusta minulla ei kyllä tällä kertaa ole kuvia, sillä keskittymisen oli painotuttava nimenomaan ompelemiseen.
Sewing the skirt was easy as I expected. The side seams were soon ready - other one is about 30 centimetres or so. Next I decided the place of the zipper and cut the back of the skirt open. I don´t have any pics of sewing the zipper this time because I really had to concentrate on sewing.

Täysin valmiista mekosta näette kuvia sitten päälläni. Sen verran voin sanoa, että olen huomattavasti tyytyväisempi tähän kuin Lukan mekkoon - ja oli muuten ihanaa käsitellä materiaalia, joka ei lähtenyt luisumaan miten sattuu mihin sattuu täysin oman mielensä mukaan!
Seuraavaksi tehtävälistallani onkin Lukan kuulokkeiden tekeminen loppuun, Cornelian leggingsien viimeistely, Lukan leggingsien maalaamisen aloittaminen, Cornelian ja Levin kenkien tekeminen ja vaikka mitä muuta. Ei ainakaan pääse tulemaan aika pitkäksi, sen verran kiirettä pitää ennen Animeconia! Uskoisin kuitenkin saavani kaiken ihan kunnialla valmiiksi, onhan tässä vielä se ruhtinaalliset kuusi viikkoa aikaa. Olisi kuitenkin pitänyt aloittaa vähän aikaisemmin, sillä epäilen omaa nopeuttani näiden tekemisessä. No, eiköhän tämä kuitenkin tästä. Piakkoin aloittelen myös Levin beltsien tekemistä! Eivät ne niin vaikeat voi olla miltä ensialkuun näyttävät... Eiväthän? ^^'
You´ll see the pics of the ready dress in the preview pics. I can say that I´m more pleased with this than I was with Luka´s skirt - and it was lovely to work with material that didn´t slip to wherever it wanted whenever it wanted!
The next things on my "must to do"-list are finishing Luka´s headphones, fnishing Cornelia´s leggings, starting to paint Luka´s leggings, making Cornelia and Levi´s shoes and so much more. At least I don´t get bored because I´ll be in a hurry before Animecon! I guess I´ll make everything in time since there are still six more weeks to go. Still I should have started a little earlier though because I´m not the quickest one to sew. Well, I guess it´ll be okay. Soon I´ll also start to make Levi´s belts! They can´t be so difficult to make than they first look like... They just can´t? ^^'

Ensi vuoden asuja!/Some of the costumes planned on next year!

No mitä se Shinigami nyt säheltää? Tämänkin vuoden asut ovat enemmän kuin pahasti vaiheessa, ja jo nyt suunnitellaan ensi vuoden asuja! ...itse asiassa tämä lista on ollut valmiina yli vuoden verran, vain pienimuotoisia lisäyksiä on tullut.
What the hell is that Shinigami messing up now? This year´s costumes aren´t even near to be ready and already there are plans for next year! ...actually this list has been made over a year ago but I´ve added some more costumes to it.

Desucon Frostbite 2015

Lauantai/Saturday: Icy

Haavecossini jo usean kuukauden ajan, ja tulipa sitten päätettyä, että häntähän minä cossaan ensi vuoden Frostbitessa ainakin lauantaina - kenties sunnuntainakin, mitä kyllä vahvasti epäilen. Korkoihin ja korsetteihin tottumattomana otuksena tuo asu näyttää jo nyt suhteellisen kivuliaalta pitää päällä, mutta eiköhän tästäkin ihan kunnialla selvitä! Icy on tosiaan sarjasta Winx Club, ja jos muita winxiläisiä ilmaantuu, olisihan se ihan kiva pitää ainakin jonkinlainen ryhmäshootti? c;
This has been my dream cosplay for many months now and then I decided to make this to next year´s Frostbite. I´ll cosplay as Icy at least on Saturday - perhaps on Sunday too but I highly doubt it. I haven´t used to use heels and corset and perhaps that´s why that costume looks pretty painful to wear but I guess it´ll be okay! Icy is from series called Winx Club and if other Winx lovers appear from somewhere it would be nice to have at least some kind of group photoshoot? c;


Sunnuntai/Sunday: Akira Nikaido

Kävipä tässä jokin aika takaisin niin, että onnistuin bongaamaan netistä sellaisen animen kuin Monochrome Factor. Tässä shonen ai-elementtejä sisältävässä sarjassa on useampikin hahmo, jota haluaisin cossata, mutta lopulta päädyin pässinpäisen päähenkilön, Akira Nikaidon, asuun - ja nimenomaan tähän versioon, sillä koulupuku ei niinkään miellyttänyt silmää, ja Icyn jälkeen budjettini huutaa jotakin hallelujan tapaista, joten kuningasversio oli auttamattomasti pois laskuista. Tämäkään ei todellakaan ole mikään varma asu, mutta kenties, kenties, saan tämän tehtyä. Suurinta huolta aiheuttaa itse asiassa peruukki. Jos muita saman sarjan cossaajia löytyisi, olisi aikas mahtavaa törmäillä.
A while ago I spotted an anime called Monochrome Factor on the Internet and decided to watch it. There are many characters in this anime (that includes some shonen ai) that I´d like to cosplay as but the stubborn main character Akira Nikaido is one of my favourites and I decided to make one of his costumes. The reasons I ended up with this version were that the school uniform wasn´t so nice and after making Icy´s costume my budget will be in disguise so Akira´s king version was automatically out of plans. I´m not even half sure if I manage to make this but perhaps, perhaps, I´ll get this ready. The thing that causes the biggest headache is that wig. If there are cosplayers that are going to cosplay from the same series it would be more than amazing to meet.

Ainakin lauantai/At least Saturday: Alex

Alex on pelistä Starshine Legacy, joka Suomessa tunnetaan myös nimillä Sielunratsastajat tai Sielunratsastajien salaisuus. Luulin, ettei hahmoa tai peliä tunnistaisi lähes kukaan, mutta toisin kävi - ja nyt onkin pientä ryhmäcosplayta saatu jo aikaiseksi! Alex on itse asiassa jo tekeillä, ja Icyn ja Akiran tekemisen jälkeen tarvitsenkin asun, joka on helpompi tehdä. Ainutta päänsärkyä tässä on aiheuttanut peruukki, sillä en ole varma tuon mokoman väristä. En sitten lainkaan. Alexia cossaan ainakin lauantaina, kenties sunnuntainakin, riippuu täysin siitä, olenko koko viikonlopun vaiko vain lauantain paikalla. Ylioppilaskirjoitukset ovat nimittäin tuolloin loppusuoralla - ja se asettaa toki myös asun valmistumisen hieman kysymysmerkiksi, mutta olen aikataulutuksen suhteen pienehkö mestari. Eiköhän se siitä, eikä tämän tekemiseen uhraannu kuitenkaan kovin paljon aikaa.
Alex is from the game series Starshine Legacy. I really thought that people wouldn´t recognize the character or the game but soon I noticed that actually pretty many people know about these games! There´s a little cosplay group forming already. I´ve actually started to make some parts of Alex´s costume and after Icy and Akira I really need an easier costume to do. The only thing causing headache is that wig because I really don´t know what colour it should be. I really don´t know. I´ll cosplay as Alex at least on Saturday, perhaps on Sunday too. I´m not sure if I´ll spend the whole weekend at Tampere because of my matriculation examination - okay, there will be only a couple of exams left at that point but still. Those exams will also cause it that I may not manage to make the costume in time but I highly doubt that I would run out of time because I´m some kind of a master with timetables. I guess everything will be okay and it won´t take much time to make this costume.
  

Siinäpä hieman jo ensi vuoden suunnitelmia! Niitä on toki vielä lisääkin, mutta kerron enemmän syksymmällä - yritän nimittäin saada nyt nämäkin asut valmiiksi. Seuraava päivitys oletettavasti koskee Lukaa, Corneliaa tai Grellin kenkiä, en tiedä vielä. Alan tehdä kaavoja Cornelian asuun koeviikolla, ja enköhän kyseisen kostyymin surauta kasaan alkukesällä. Jotakin hyötyä siis aivan liian aikaisista herätyksistä kesälomalla, ehdinpähän tekemään asuni ajoissa valmiiksi! Animeconin jälkeen oletettavasti pidän pienimuotoista hengähdyshetkeä kera filosofiankirjan, mutta piakkoin sen jälkeen pitää alkaa valmistaa Grelliä (ja oletettavasti myös Icya, ainakin kyseisen neidin peruukkia). 
There are a few costumes planned for next year! There will be more of course but I´ll tell more before Tracon - I try make this year´s costumes ready. The next update will be about Luka, Cornelia or Grell´s shoes, I´m not sure yet. I´ll start to make patterns to Cornelia on exam week and I´m pretty sure that I´ll sew that costume in the beginning of summer. I thought that waking up way too early on summer holiday wouldn´t be very useful but actually it seems to be - at least I´ll manage to make my costumes ready in time! After Animecon I´ll have a little break (with philosophy book though) but pretty soon after it I´ll have to start to make Grell´s costumes (and perhaps Icy´s too, at least that damn wig).

Lukan mekko: valmis!/Luka´s dress: ready!

Cossi, jolla ei koskaan ollut mikään kiire. Cossi, jonka piti valmistua, jos aikaa jää. Mutta mitenkäs kävi? Lomalla loppuikin tekeminen kesken, ja koska muihin asuihini minulla ei vielä ole kaavoja, päätin sitten ihan huvikseen _aloittaa_ Lukan - ja se eskaloituikin sitten siihen, että tein koko mekon muutamassa päivässä. Magnet-version tosiaan tein, ja kyseessä on ensimmäinen puku, jonka tein ilman neuvontaa alusta loppuun. Siltä tämä kenties kyllä vähän näyttääkin.
That costume which I had no need to hurry with. That costume which was supposed to be ready if I had extra time. But what happened? On a vacation I got bored and because I don´t have patterns to my other costumes yet I decided to _begin to make_ my Luka costume - and that escalated to it that I made the dress completely in a few days. I made Magnet-version of her and this is the first costume I made all by myself, without any tips from the others. Well, this may look like it, too.

Kaavat tosiaan väsäsin jo aikoja sitten, ja sitten minulle iskikin kamala jumitus sen suhteen, miten ihmeessä oikein tekisin mekon. Järki ei pelannut sitten yhtään, ja koko projekti lensikin muutamaksi viikoksi sohvan nurkkaan lepäämään. Yllättäen kuitenkin älysin, että olin järkeillyt asiaa vaikeimman kautta, eikä mikään olisikaan niin vaikeaa kuin olin aluksi kuvitellut. Koska minulla sattui olemaan ylimääräistä aikaa ja kaikki materiaalit mekon tekemiseen, aloitinkin sitten mekon alaosasta.
I made the patterns for this dress ages ago but then I really didn´t know how to make the costume itself. I didn´t find a solution right away and the whole project was "frozen" for a few weeks. Suddenly I understood that I had thought everything in a wrong way and nothing would be as difficult as I had imagined. Because I had extra time and all materials to make the dress I began to make the lower part of the dress.

Huomasin mekkoa tehdessäni, että minulla oli kahta erilaista kangasta, mutta itseäni ne eivät häiritse, mustaa satiinia kumpikin kuitenkin on. Ylemmässä kuvassa on tosiaan se, mistä aloitettiin. Alkuperäisten kaavojen mukaan tuon olisi pitänyt olla minulle melkeinpä passeli saman tien, mutta kun sovitin tuota päälleni, koko systeemi valahti jopa lantioni yli - puhumattakaan vyötärölle jäämisestä. No, ei kun vain kivasti kaventamaan! Tuo oli sentään vielä helppo homma.
While making the dress I noticed that I had two different fabrics but they don´t disturb me, both of them are black satin anyway. In the upper picture you can see the beginning of the project. I believed that the lower part of the dress would fit me right away because the original patterns said so but when I tested to wear that... It didn´t fit. It fell to the floor past my hips - not to mention that it´s supposed to be kinda tight on the waist. Well, I just had to make it smaller! At least it was easy to do with this project.

"Original patterns should fit"... Doesn´t seem like it. Gosh that light is bad... .__.

Valitettavasti minulla ei ollut ihan hirvittävästi aikaa heilua kameran kanssa, joten WIP-kuvat jäävät nyt hieman turhankin vähäisiksi. Siispä heitän viimeisen kuvan nyt tähän väliin (vetoketjun ompelua) ja sen jälkeen selvennän hieman, mitä muuta ompelemisen aikana sattui.
Unfortunately I didn´t have much time to take pictures so there won´t be much WIP-pics. I´ll put the last WIP-pic here (I took it after I had sewed the zipper) and after that I´ll tell you what else happened while sewing.

Ja tuoltahan se näyttää siksi, että jouduin hoitamaan homman tavallisella vetoketjupaininjalalla. No, joka tapauksessa sitä muuta toilailua nyt tähän väliin.

• Yläosan paikalleensaaminen vaati sitten sen, että keskietu ja -taka eivät kohtaa, mutta muuten olisi vilkkunut vähän liikaakin. Minäkin rakastan mittavirheitä.
• Helman huolittelu näyttää mielestäni ulospäin hyvältä, mutta kangas ei tykännyt tehdä kanssani yhteistyötä, joten lopputulos mekon sisäpuolella on ehkä kamalinta aikaansaamaani.
• Niskalenkki kiinnitetään nepparilla, oletettavasti kahdella, ettei vahingossakaan käy... Khem, hullusti.
• Obin tein jo viime uutenavuotena, nyt vain säädin sen parempaan kuntoon. Viisi kuukautta muovikassissa ei ilmeisesti tee hyvää millekään.
• Mekkoon käytettiin yhteensä kenties vähän yli kymmenen työtuntia. Itse ompeleminen ei vienyt kauan, muu säätäminen otti oman aikansa.

And that looks like that because I didn´t have right objects to sew the... What is that in English? Hidden zipper or something? Anyway, here is some situations and stuff what happened while sewing the dress.

• When I was putting the upper half of the dress on its place I noticed that the middle parts in the front and in the back wouldn´t meet. Then I decided to fix a mistake with a mistake because if I hadn´t done that the dress would reveal more that I wanted. I love making mistakes while cutting the fabric (not).
• The grooming of the hem looks good on the outside but the fabric didn´t co-operate with me so I ended up with the worst grooming I´ve ever done (I mean the inside of the hem).
• The part that goes around my neck consists of two pieces of fabric that are attached to each other with a popper, perhaps with two because I don´t want any... Khm, accidents to happen.
• I made the obi on last New Year´s Eve so now I just fixed it. Five months in a plastic bag obviously makes good to nothing.
• It took something like ten hours to make the dress if I sum everything. Sewing itself didn´t take that long but there was much else to do too.

Ja miltä tämä sitten näyttää päällä? No, nyt sitten tiedätte, miksi cossaan enimmäkseen miehiä. Ruumiinrakenteeni kun on kovin naisellinen, etenkin kun saan kymmenen senttiä lisäpituutta korkokengistä. Grell-cossia odotellessa.
And how does it look like when I wear it? Well, now you know why I mostly cosplay as a man character. My body is so veeeery feminine, at least when the heels add almost ten extra centimetres to my height. I´ll be pretty tall Grell too, just noticed.

Kivasti Blogger tapat taas laatua. Mutta joo, pahoittelen vääränlaisia leggingsejä, mutta minulla ei vielä ole oikeita tehtynä. Oletettavasti pian kylläkin. Ja ei, en jaksanut meikata tms, normaalisti kuljen täysin ilman meikkiä enkä parin kuvan takia jaksanut sitten vaivautua. Kaikkia referenssikuvia rikkoen käytän tosiaan noita kenkiä, mutta ne sopivat kuitenkin hahmoon ja sain ne halvalla. Mekkoa ei tosiaan ole silitetty näissä kuvissa, siksi helma näyttää hieman oudolta.
Blogger, I love it when you totally kill the quality. I´m sorry for the wrong leggings but I don´t have the real ones yet. I suppose I´ll make them soon though. And no, I was too lazy to put any make-up, usually I wear no make-up at all and putting it on for a couple of pictures would have been in vain. Because rules are meant to be broken I chose those shoes - in the reference pictures the shoes are not similar to those at all but they fit the character and they were kinda cheap. The dress isn´t ironed in these pics, that´s why the hem looks kinda weird.

Huomenna sitten käynkin taas kangaskaupassa ja toivon mukaan sieltä tarttuu jotain matkaankin. Lukan kuulokkeitakin pitäisi jatkaa, mutta koeviikko on taas uhkaavasti edessä, ja opiskellakin pitäisi. Kenties kuitenkin väsään tässä vielä jotakin. Ihan hyvä olisi, 1/3 Animeconin asuista vasta (melkein) kasassa.
Tomorrow I´ll go to the fabric shop again and hopefully I´ll find some fabrics I need too. I should also continue making Luka´s headphones but I have my exam week pretty soon and I should study. Perhaps I´ll make something during these couple of weeks. It would be good, only 1/3 of costumes that are meant to be wore at Animecon are (almost) ready.

Germanian peruukki/Germania´s wig

Ensi lauantaina Tampereella järjestetään cosplay-harrastajien miitti, enkä ihan täysin omana itsenäni sinne halunnut mennä. Anime Characters Databasesta ei ihme kyllä löytynyt ketään, ja ensin ajattelinkin uusia OC-hahmoni Walterin cossin, edeltävä kun meni vähän niin ja näin. Ilmeni kuitenkin, etten saisi leikattua peruukkiin haluamanlaistani otsatukkaa. Hetken ajan peruukkia katseltuani päädyin Lucius Malfoyn kautta Hetalian Germaniaan - tosin teen hänestä casual-version.

On next Saturday there will be a meeting of cosplayers at Tampere and I didn´t want to be just me. Anime Characters Database didn´t (surprisingly) help me at all and at first I thought that I could remake my OC-character´s (Walter McRavenhill) costume - last time when I cosplayed as him didn´t go so well. Then I noticed that I couldn´t cut the bangs in a way I had wanted to. After a short while I had considered that I should cosplay as Lucius Malfoy but in the end I decided to cosplay as Germania from Hetalia - well, I´ll make a casual version of him.

Seuraavaksi sitten vähän WIP-kuvia. Peruukkia tosiaan tuli käytettyä viimeksi vuoden 2013 Desucon Frostbitessa, ja sen jälkeen sille ei ole ollut käyttöä ennen tätä päivää.

Helpot peruukit ovat helppoja! Nyt minulla tosin on liimalakkaa naamassakin, tämä ei tunnu kovin mukavalta... Ja ei, minulla ei ole asiaankuuluvaa meikkiä/asua näissä kuvissa, kunhan vain kuvailin tekoprosessia. Itse olen suhteellisen tyytyväinen tuohon, vaikkei tuo mikään vaikea missään vaiheessa ollutkaan - sen verran painava kylläkin, että meinasi kesken kaiken pudota peruukkipäästä. Nuppineulat ovat kavereita. Tätä peruukkia tosiaan käytän ensi lauantaina, mutten tiedä, teenkö Germaniasta koskaan "kunnollista" cossia. Se jää nähtäväksi.
Easy wigs are easy! But now I have that glued hairspray on my face too, this doesn´t feel nice... And in these pictures I don´t have any make-up/the right costume, I just took pics about the wig. I´m pretty pleased with that even though that wasn´t difficult to make - well, it´s pretty heavy and almost fell off from the wig head. Pins are friends. I´ll use this wig on next Saturday but I don´t know if I´ll ever make Germania´s real costume. We´ll see.

Tampere Kuplii 2014

Kuten huomasitte, Itachi 3/3-päivitystä ei koskaan tullut, ja syynä oli yksinkertaisesti se, ettei mitään päivittämisen arvoista oikeastaan ollut. Otsasuojuksen kyhäsin hätäpäissäni kasaan ja feilasin kaulakorun, joten päätin jättää päivittämättä niistä.
As you noticed, there never was Itachi 3/3-update and the reason is clear: there was nothing to update about. I made the forehead protector in a hurry and I failed the necklace so I decided not to update about them.

Kupliita edeltävänä perjantai-iltana Law tuli meille yöksi, sillä olimme molemmat lähdössä samalla junalla aamulla kohti Tamperetta. Ilta meni mukavasti peruukkia harjatessa, kynsiä lakatessa sekä WonderNeePoosin viimeisintä livestreamia katsellessa. Niin, ja totta kai Conilaulua kuunnellessa!
Law came to my place on Friday evening because we were going to Tampere by the same train on Saturday morning. We had pretty nice evening; I brushed my wig, put nailpolish on my nails and watched WonderNeePoos´ livestream. And, of course, we were listening to Conilaulu (a song about con panic)!

Lauantaiaamuna olikin sitten edessä herääminen neljältä, mutta siinä kohtaa se ei haitannut (tällä hetkellä olen enemmän kuin hieman väsynyt, joten antakaa anteeksi mahdollisesti typerät sanavalintani ja sekavat lauseeni). Vähän ennen seitsemää lähdimme kohti Harjavaltaa, josta matkamme sitten jatkui junalla kohti Tamperetta. Junamatkan aikana bindini pääsivät valahtamaan, joten Tampereella ensimmäinen osoite oli Stockan vessa. (Bindien kiristäminen yleisissä tiloissa on muuten äärimmäisen häiritsevää, vaikka alla olisivatkin urheilurintaliivit.) Tästäpä sitten jatkoimme Finlaysonille, ja paikan päällä näin saman tien Mallan, joka toimi cossaajaparinani.
Jonkin aikaa siinä oltuamme Law lähti Punanaamiolle, ja minä ja Malla jäimme odottelemaan sitä, milloin pääsisimme kuvauspisteelle ja ennakkotuomarointeihin. Eipä siinä kauan mennyt, eikä niissä kauan kestänyt. Meillä oli jonkin verran aikaa ennen kisaa, joten pääasiassa pyörimme Siperian tiloissa ja bongailimme tuttuja. Minun on pakko sanoa, että onneksi kukaan ei tässä vaiheessa tullut pyytämään kuvia... Oloni oli jo nyt suhteellisen hirveä bindieni takia.

On Saturday morning we woke up at 4 a.m. but it wasn´t very hard (right now I´m much more than a little tired so forgive me my possible stupid word choices and sentences that make no sense). About half past six o'clock we continued our trip to Harjavalta and from there to Tampere by the train. During the train trip my binder (the ace bandage part) failed and the first address at Tampere was Stocka's restroom. (It was pretty disturbing to fix the ace bandage to its right place even though I had sports bra under it.) From Stocka we continued to Finlayson and there I saw Malla who was my cosplay partner (she cosplayed as Sasuke).
After a short while Law left to Punanaamio and I and Malla had to wait for a while until we got to go to photographing place and meet the judges. Well, we didn´t have to wait very long and photographing and judging didn´t take much time. We had plenty of time before the contest so we just were at Siperia (a mall) and met friends. I have to say that it´s good that nobody came to ask pictures back then... I didn´t feel well because of my binder.

Kisalava pyyhki kuitenkin huonovointisuuteni pois, ja pienimuotoinen jännitys nousi 10 sekuntia ennen lavalle menoa. Tämä oli muuten ensimmäinen kerta minun kohdallani, kun lavalla kysyttiin kysymyksiä. Puoliksi improten siinä sitten vastailin niihin, mutta taisi mennä suhteellisen hyvin ottaen huomioon olemattomat improamistaitoni. Mallakin pärjäsi loistavasti - tämä kisa oli hänen ensimmäisensä. Finaalipaikkaa ei tullut, mutta olen silti tyytyväinen suorituksiimme, eikä sinne jatkopaikkaa/voittoa lähdettykään hakemaan. Kisaaminen itsessään luo todella mahtavan tunteen, ja menestys tulee siinä siivellä jos on tullakseen. Onnea jatkoon menijöille! Äänestää voi muuten täällä!
Kisan jälkeen näin lähestulkoon samantien Juudin, jota näin viimeksi vuosi sitten samaisessa tapahtumassa. Piakkoin tämän jälkeen tultiinkin pyytämään ensimmäinen kuva. Olen pahoillani siitä, jos ihmiset häiriintyivät ItaSasusta. Oikeassa elämässä en TODELLAKAAN kannata minkäänlaista insestiä, kuten ei Mallakaan. Pidämme vain kyseisestä parituksesta, ja fanservice on hauskaa - tästä päästäänkin siihen, ettei sitäkään toteutettaessa tarvitse olla pari. Voisin paasata tästä aiheesta pienen ikuisuuden, mutta taidan tässä kohtaa jättää väliin.
Pian tämän jälkeen iskivätkin peruukkipäänsärky ja pahoinvointi bindien vuoksi niin voimakkaasti, ettei puoleentoista tuntiin pystynyt tekemään oikein mitään. Kagelta sain onneksi särkylääkkeen, ja se helpottikin päänsärkyyni. Bindauksesta johtuva pahoinvointi ei kuitenkaan lientynyt, joten päätin irrottaa ideaalisiteen - vain huomatakseni, että se oli ollut bindauksen kannalta täysin turha, sillä urheiluliivit litistivät tarpeeksi! Typerä ShinigamiUchiha on typerä.

My nauseous feeling disappeared when the contest started. I was pretty excited before we went to the stage. This was the first time for me when they asked questions on the stage. My answers were 50 % improvisation but I guess it went fine (I´m not really good in improvisation). Malla´s performance was awesome too - this was her first contest. We didn´t make it to the final but I´m still pleased with our performances and we weren´t chasing after the final place/win. Being in a contest causes very awesome feeling and the success is just a bonus that may come. I´m happy for those who got the final place!
After the contest I saw Juudi almost immediately. Last time I met her was last year´s Kuplii. Soon after this a person came to ask for a photo. I´m very sorry if people got disturbed by ItaSasu. In real life we DEFINITELY DON´T SUPPORT incest. We just like the pairing and fanservice is fun - and no, we aren´t a couple. If you want to take some fanservice photos etc it doesn´t have to be your girl-/boyfriend. I could speakt about this for a short eternity but I guess I´ll pass it now.
Soon after this I got a wig headache and nauceous because of the binder. I wasn´t able to do anything for an hour and a half. Thank goodness I got a painkiller from Kage and it eased my headache. The nauseous feeling didn´t disappear and I then decided to take off the ace bandage - only to notice that it was meaningless because of the sports bra! Stupid ShinigamiUchiha is stupid.

En tässä conissa tällä kertaa kuvannut niin paljon, johtuen siitä, että olin itse puolitajuton. Olen pahoillani, jos olin jossain kohtaa surkeaa seuraa sen vuoksi! Kuplii kuitenkin meni ihan mukavasti jälleen kerran, ja Itachia aion käyttää vielä jossakin conissa uudestaankin. Laittelen tähän alle nyt sitten kuvia, jos löydät itsesi, saat ottaa sen omaan käyttöösi - sillä edellytyksellä, että nimimerkkini mainitaan mahdollisessa julkisessa jaossa. Eipä Kupliista muuta, kiva pieni con, johon on aina mukava palata! Kiitokset mahtavasta conista kaikille, Animeconissa nähdään seuraavan kerran!

This time I didn´t take so much pictures because of the awful physical feelings I had. I´m very sorry if I was horrible company because of it (that damn nausea did ease in some point but still)! Once again Kuplii was pretty nice con and I will cosplay as Itachi again. Here are some pictures and if you see yourself you´re free to take that pic. If you share it in your blog etc it would be nice if you mentioned my nickname. I have nothing else to say about Kuplii, it is a nice little con with great costumes and company! Thanks for the wonderful con to everybody, we´ll see at Animecon next time!

Siinä kaikki tällä kertaa. Pyrin nyt pitäytymään päätöksessäni, että uppailisin harvemmin, mutta suuremmalla sisältömäärällä. Vähemmän on enemmän ja sitä rataa. Mutta eipä sillä, olen jo seuraaviakin projekteja aloitellut ja yksi on melkein kasassakin jo. No, siitä lisää seuraavilla kerroilla!

That´s all for now. I made a decision that I won´t update my blog so often but when I´ll update there will be more stuff. Less is more etc. But I´ve already started my next projects and one is almost ready. Well, you´ll hear more in the near future!

"It´s fun to stay in the Akatsuki!" - Itachi 2/3

Viime perjantaina lähdin jälleen kummitädilleni tekemään Itachi-cosplaytani, ja jo illalla leikkasin mustan takkikankaan (oli muuten ihanaa leikattavaa trikoon ja fleecen jälkeen). Jo aikaisemmin viime viikolla olin tehnyt Akatsuki-pilvet valmiiksi, ja hommahan ei ollut niin yksinkertainen, mitä voisi luulla... Mutta, sain ne tosiaan tehtyä! Pilvet on valmistettu huovasta (punainen osa) ja fleecestä (valkoinen osa).
Lauantaina sitten aloitin takin tekemisen sekä housujen viimeistelemisen (paitaa tehtiin lauantain ja sunnuntain välisenä yönä, kun väsytti jo niin paljon, että oltiin täysin hereillä).
Last Friday I visited my godmother again to make my Itachi cosplay and in the evening I already cut the black coat fabric (it was so nice to cut after tricot and fleece). Earlier last week I had done the Akatsuki clouds ready and it wasn´t as simple as it seems... But I managed to make them! I made the clouds of felt (?? the red part) and fleece (the white part).
On Saturday I started to make the cloak and finish the trousers (I almost finished the trousers in the night between Saturday and Sunday when I was so tired that I was totally awake).

Lauantainahan tosiaan tavoitteena oli viimeistellä housut ja saada takki alkuun... No, housut tuli viimeisteltyä, ja takki... Hupsista, sepäs tulikin tehtyä sitten kokonaan!
Pieniä tietoja takista:
 -takki tehtiin yksien kaavojen perusteella, tosin niitäkin muokattiin
 -kaulus tuettiin pystyyn tukevalla huovalla, tukikankaalla ja luilla
 -takki on (luonnollisesti) vuoritettu
 -kiinnitys hoidetaan neppareilla

On Saturday my goal was to finish the trousers and begin to make the cloak... Well, I finished the trousers, and the cloak... Oops, I finished it too!
A little information about the cloak:
 -the cloak is based on one plan though we had to modify it
 -the neck part is made of steady felt, backcloth and bones
 -the cloak has (of course) lining
 -closing the cloak will be done with poppers

Eli siinäpä tuo cossi sitten melkeinpä valmiina! Päivityksessä 3/3 väsään enää vain otsapannan, kaulakorun ja (jos kehitän jostakin fiksua materiaalia) sormuksen. Mahdollisimman pian -kenties jo huhtikuussa- aloitan Levin ja Cornelian ompelun, sekä viimeistelen Lukani. Kiirettä pitää, jos Animeconiin haluan saada kaikki valmiiksi, kuten tarkoitus olisi. Tämän lisäksi pitäisi väsätä myös Grelliä. Animeconin lippu minulla on jo, ja Traconin lippu tilattiin juuri eilen, joten ihan hyvältä tällä hetkellä näyttää! Peruukkeja tosin pitää vielä metsästää... No, siitä selvitään, kuten aina ennenkin.
Well, that costume is almost ready! In update 3/3 I´ll just make the forehead protector, necklace and (if I get some useful material) the ring. As soon as possibly -maybe in April- I´ll start to sew my Levi and Cornelia and finish my Luka. I´ll be in a hurry if I want to use all those costumes at Animecon (that´s how I planned it). I should also make some parts to my Grell cosplay. I already have a ticket to Animecon and my Tracon ticket was ordered yesterday so everything seems to go pretty well now! Well, I have to seek some wigs... I´ll survive from it, like always before.

Cornelian shoecoverit & Itachi 1/3 / Cornelia´s shoecovers and Itachi 1/3

Kuten taisin jo viime päivityksessä kenties mainita, väsäsin Cornelian shoecovereita viikonloppuna. Ei, ne eivät ole valmiit, mutta hyvällä alulla kuitenkin. Päätin tehdä kappaleet kengän luonnollisten saumojen mukaan, ja värjään saumakohdat sitten violeteiksi. Lopputulos ei kenties tule olemaan maailman kaunein, mutta olen kenkien kanssa totaalinen torvelo.
I guess I mentioned in last update that I made parts to Cornelia´s shoecovers last weekend. No, they aren´t ready but in a good start. I decided that it would be the best if the parts were based on the shoe´s natural lines (I´ll paint the lines purple later). The shoes won´t be the most beautiful in the world but I really suck at making shoes.

Tänään pääsin sitten aloittamaan Itachin valmistuksen! Heräsin siinä 06.50 (hyvää huomenta), ja yhdeksän maissa olinkin jo kiinnittelemässä kaavoja kankaaseen. Housut tehtiin samalla kaavalla kuin Jamesin housut viime vuonna, mutta tällä kertaa ne tulivat vasta puolivalmiiksi, joten niistä saadaan sitten odottaa kuvia myöhempään kertaan. Paita sen sijaan saatiin melkeiin valmiiksi, enää puuttuu oikeastaan vain verkko-osa! Takkia en vielä aloittanut, se kuuluu seuraavan kerran projekteihin.
Sininen osa asua on tehty trikoosta, jonka oikea väri ei pääse oikeuksiinsa ottamissani kuvissa. Referenssikuvassani asu ei ollut musta, vaan pikemminkin omituinen sekoitus harmaata, sinistä ja violettia... Tai siten minä sen värin näen, mutta ihmisethän näkevät värisävyt eri tavoin. Jos nyt kuitenkin antaisin kuvien puhua puolestaan.
Today I started to make my Itachi costume! I woke up at 06.50 a.m (good morning) and at nine o'clock I was already pinning the plans to the fabric. I made Itachi´s trousers with the same plan than James´ trousesrs last year but I wasn´t able to finish these this time so you´ll get pictures later. I almost finished the shirt - actually it´s missing only the web part! I haven´t started to make the cloak yet, it´ll be next time´s project.
The blue part of the costume is made of tricot and its real colour doesn´t show in the pics because of the light. In the reference picture I used that part of the costume wasn´t black, it was strange mix of gray, blue and purple... Or that´s how I see that colour but people see the colour shades in different ways. Well, here are some pics to tell you more.

Tähän siis päästiin, housutkin tulivat melko hyvään malliin jo, mutta niistä minulla ei ole kuvia. Seuraavalla kerralla tosiaan paidan verkko-osuus, housujen valmistuminen sekä takin aloittaminen! Tässä välissä saatan toteuttaa joitain pienempiä projekteja taas... No, tuleepahan valmistettua, ettei viime hetkillä tarvitse niistä alkaa panikoida! Nyt harkitsen vakavasti nukkumista, tosin harkitsemisen tasolle se taitaa vielä jäädä - postauksen aneemisuudesta voi kenties päätellä väsymystasoni, mutta päätin kuitenkin tehdä tämän tänään, ettei jäisi roikkumaan.
This is what I managed to do, the trousers are almost finished but I don´t have any pics of them. Next time I´ll make the web part of the shirt, the trousers will be finished and I´ll start to make the cloak! I guess I may do some smaller projects again... Well, if I do them now I don´t have to panic about them later! I guess I should go to bed now but I doubt I´ll do that - you may see from the text how tired I am but I decided to make this update today so I wouldn´t forget it.
